Hepgen licenses patent applications, trade secrets and intellectual property from the Geisinger Health System. 

Initial validation studies with the Hepgen NFT test are highly encouraging.  In a head-to-head feasibility trial of 65 obese patients (half diseased and half normal), HepGen biomarkers out-performed the predominant and market leading pre-biopsy liver function tests (LFTs) by a margin of 81% to 15%.  In 4 patients with cirrhosis, HG1 identified all 4 patients while LFT did not identify any of them.
